Purpose:
This role oversees  daily operation of the Test Engineering  Department  and reports to the Director  of Engineering/Production  Test Department. This includes,  but is not limited  to directing  personnel,  managing administrative functions,  process  improvements for efficiency,  controlling  test schedules,  coordinating test equipment.  Collaborate with internal and external  customers  to ensure timely execution of contractual obligations.

 

Job Duties:
•    Interviewing,  hiring,  training  and mentoring  personnel. •    Develop  subordinates'  skills,  encourage  growth  and mentor future leadership.
•    Manage personnel regarding  performance and evaluations.
•    Analyze  and resolve work  problems  and utilize collaboration for resolving  problems,  to include direct reports.
•    Create  a culture  that reflects  MEC Vision  and Values.
•    Support  goals and initiatives of MEC leadership
•    Manage  test equipment,  support  equipment,  and personnel  in support of on time delivery.
•    Interface with other departments to ensure  customer  order deadlines  are met.
•    Analyze  and plan work  force and equipment utilization,  space  requirements and workflow.
•    Make recommendations to improve test methods,  performance,  equipment  and quality of product.
•    Interface with test manager  on ATP and RCCA processes.
•    Maintain  a safe,  clean and organized work  environment.
•    Review and approve  Test plans and procedures.
•    Develop,  Monitor  and maintain  department metrics.
•    Maintain  department budget.

 

Physical  Demands:
•    Frequent  standing,  walking,  or sitting. •    Occasionally  required  to bend,  stoop,  or kneel.
This is a Full-Time  position  40 hrs. a week  5 days a week  onsite.


Job Requirements: •    Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or four-to-six-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Preferably in the aerospace or military industry.
•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as test specifications, drawings, test plans, Acceptance Test Procedures, and equipment operating and maintenance instructions.
•    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•    Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
•    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
•    Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
•    Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word,  PowerPoint, Access).  MS 365 and TEAMS
•    Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the QMS Library, with specific competency on the following:
