POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

Technical Solutions Development (TSD) Manager will support business growth and strategic initiatives in the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO)/Sustainment arena, as well as conduct field service work in support of Marvin Engineering Company’s advanced technology programs.  The TSD Manager will play a significant role with the Program Management Office (PMO) and TSD Team in supporting customer contracts, business needs, and operations related to technical design and implementation of solutions for MRO training.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develops and maintains strong customer and partner (internal and external) interfaces.
  • Champions initiatives to develop, improve, and resolve issues with critical processes and technologies 
  • Provides project management oversight to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives.      
  • Manages all solutions support activities, including the pre-sale scoping process and the post-sales design and implementation activities for complex technical products.         
  • Oversees sales demo preparation and delivery and facilitates technical requirements gathering sessions.
  • Ensures the review of customer technical specifications is accurate and provides solid recommendations of specific products and services.    
  • Leads the planning and design of product configuration, custom solutions, enhancement, or upgrades and directs the delivery of problem resolution, repairs, or workarounds.
  • Act as the point of contact with customers on assigned programs and administer the relationship between external customers and internal departments to build positive, supportive long term business relationships  

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 8 – 10 years of experience managing projects with government, commercial, and international customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience in the aerospace and defense industry
  • Proven experience as a Technical Manager or similar role.
  • Sound understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical details clearly (verbal and written).
  • Experience with project management, strategic planning and risk management.
  • Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent ability to work within a team, fostering teamwork and trust with both external and internal customers
  • Excellent ability to develop and maintain customer relationships based on professionalism, responsiveness and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent ability to readily manage rapidly shifting work priorities and multiple task assignments

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

  • Medium-to-large office population
  • Fast paced office environment
  • Frequent travel required – both domestic and international travel, as well as local travel
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support tradeshow and customer development
