POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This position requires knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense industry and can develop and execute cost and financial strategies to optimize supply chain performance, manage risk, and ensure compliance with stringent government regulations like the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). The role involves significant collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align financial goals with program objectives. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for supply chain operations for both direct and indirect sides of the Supply Chain organization. Monitor performance against established metrics, KPIs, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.

 

Cost Management & Optimization: Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvement using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and develop costing models to more effectively identify and manage costs across the entire supply chain including supplier prices, transportation and inventory.

 

Inventory & Working Capital Management: Oversee inventory levels working with Operations, Program Office and Finance to meet demand, minimize carrying costs, and prevent obsolescence. Manage working capital and cash flow to ensure resources are available for procurement and Supply Chain operations.

 

Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all cost and financial activities adhere to defense-specific regulations, including TINA, CPSR, FAR, DFARS and public law. Assist in identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks such as geopolitical instability or material shortages.

 

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication: Prepare detailed cost and financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external customers including government agencies. Effectively communicate key cost and financial targets working with engineering, program management, operations and supply chain leadership teams. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required, MBA is a plus.

 

Experience: A minimum of 5-8+ years of relevant finance or supply chain experience with prior experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry highly preferred.  Experience with CPSR, TINA and Lean/Six Sigma is preferred.

 

Technical Skills: Proficiency with SAP systems, strong analytical and financial modeling skills, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel are essential.  SAP HANA proficiency is highly preferred.

 

Procurement Regulations: Deep understanding and application of DOD procurement and subcontracting regulations including FAR, DFARS, FMS, Direct Commercial FFP, FPI, T&M contracting types is highly preferred.

 

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills are necessary for cross-functional collaboration and managing teams.

Medium-to-large office environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments

 

 

SALARY RANGE:

 

Base Salary Range (Inglewood only):  $125,000 – $165,000

 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

 

There are typically travel requirements for this position (10%)
