SCOPE

Direct, coordinate, and control activities of employees engaged in the assembly, disassembly and reassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final units to support production of military mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct supervision of employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assigning and directing workflow.
  • Training employees in various day to day tasks.
  • Appraising employee performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Develop and provide input on assembly requirements needed to fulfill customer orders.
  • Study production schedules and estimates, maintain time and production records, and coordinate manpower to meet changing conditions.
  • Ensure customer shipment dates and specifications are met by coordinating flow of product through department according to production order requirements.
  • Make and implement recommendations to improve production methods, performance, and quality of product.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
  • Enforce Safety requirements, regulations and interpret company policies.
  • Perform root cause and corrective preventive actions and/or assist workers to solve problems.
  • Develop subordinates' skills and encourage growth.
  • Perform other related duties as may be required.

 

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, drawings, specifications, technical manuals, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP software. Knowledge of SAP ERP software preferred.
  • Previous experience in troubleshooting and assembly of military mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting or lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to bend, stoop, or kneel.
