Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area is searching for an experienced Solutions Architect.  With a 60+ year foundation, The Marvin Group supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms.  We support many military prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.

SCOPE
The solution architect's scope will be responsible for cataloging, designing, implementing, and overseeing complex IT solutions that meet our organization's business needs and maintain our compliance. The solution architect will work closely with stakeholders, including executives, business leaders, and IT teams, to understand requirements and develop comprehensive architecture plans. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable IT solutions.


RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their objectives, challenges, and IT requirements.
• Design end-to-end solutions that align with business goals, technical requirements, and industry best practices.
• Develop architectural blueprints and technical documentation to guide the implementation of IT solutions.
• Evaluate existing systems, infrastructure and applications to identify areas for improvement or optimization.
• Lead cross-functional teams to implement and deploy IT solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and project timelines.
• Provide technical guidance and support to all IT teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Conduct technology assessments and recommend innovative solutions to address business needs.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in IT architecture.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to evaluate and integrate external solutions.
• Participate in the development of IT strategies and roadmaps to support long-term business objectives.


SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, such as computer/software engineering.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies (e.g., Azure) and experience designing cloud-based solutions.
• 5+ years of hands on experience in configuring systems, networks or applications.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance systems using modern technologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in system architecture may be advantageous.
• Experience in modeling graphic representations and writing comprehensive architectural documents.
• Experience in operating under a compliance environment such as NIST/CMMC, SOC, PCI
• Ability to use sound judgment.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
