Position Summary:
This hands-on CAD/drafting role supports engineers and manufacturing by turning sketches, marked-up drawings, and engineering direction into accurate SolidWorks models and clear production drawings.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Create and revise SolidWorks 3D part and assembly models from sketches, markups, and engineering direction
- Prepare clear 2D detail, fabrication, and assembly drawings with production dimensions, notes, and basic tolerances
- Build organized drawing packages for parts, assemblies, and fabrication work
- Maintain alignment among models, drawings, BOMs, and revisions as approved changes are made
- Work with engineers and manufacturing to resolve drafting questions and incorporate shop feedback
- Check work for accuracy, completeness, fit, and consistency before review
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 2+ years of demonstrated experience using SolidWorks to create, modify, and maintain 3D part and assembly models and associated 2D drawings
- Ability to produce clear, accurate fabrication and assembly drawings and follow revision practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize CAD files, BOMs, and drawing changes
- Clear communication and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with sheet metal, fabricated components, or enclosure and power-equipment drawings
- Familiarity with PDM/revision control or hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly work
