POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Shipping Clerk I, under direct supervision, primary duties are to package, cross-referencing delivery note information, packaging instructions and supporting documentation with shipping labels, product ID, packaging materials, and finished goods prior to shipping out.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Follow lead instructions of daily tasks
  • Complete assignments in a timely manner under direct supervision of level II clerk or lead.
  • Conduct peer review of clerks’ output by examining work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures under supervision of level II or lead.
  • Keep workstation and packaging areas organized and free of foreign object debris (FOD) while packaging.
  • Accurately record measurements and weight of packaged goods.
  • Accurately take measurements to create custom boxes.
  • Outgoing shipments given to the assigned carrier.
  • Support with any team assignments and training requirements.
  • Provide feedback to lead for process and procedure improvements and assist with implementation.
  • Identify and escalates process issues to Shipping Clerk III and Supervisor

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Attendance and punctuality are an essential job duty.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2+ years of working experience in complex warehouse and distribution environments, preferably in the aerospace or military industry.
  • Some understanding of Military Shipment process is a plus.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Data entry skills.
  • Proficient use of MS Office and ERP systems. (SAP experience preferred)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must be able to lift 35lbs.
  • Safely receive and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklift or pallet jack. 
  • Adherence to Marvin Engineering Co, Inc. policies and procedures.
  • May be required to work overtime.

SALARY RANGE:

 

Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $21/hr to $23/hr
