POSITION SUMMARY:

Buyer IV supports Indirect Procurement and is responsible for purchases that support day-to-day operations (instead of direct material purchases for production). Indirect Procurement means the purchase of software licenses, IT infrastructure, travel, construction, leases, a wide variety of services (temps, maintenance, landscaping, cafeteria, company benefits, etc.) and capital equipment (usually large machining or quality measurement equipment but could include things like forklifts or other vehicles). These are things we need to buy that do not go into the products we manufacture. This role ensures these “indirect” items are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Robust negotiation, independent problem-solving, the ability to work through ambiguity to develop solutions, and clear and concise communication are all critical for this role.

Marvin Engineering is growing, and our indirect procurement team needs to develop processes and expertise in all of the areas described above. The successful candidate will already have robust experience in most, if not all, of these areas. We want to leverage this experience to enable fast expansion while utilizing best practices in the industry.
