Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. PURPOSE:
The position of Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing and improving manufacturing and industrial processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. They work with various teams to develop new techniques, modify existing processes, implement process improvement projects and introduce new product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzing and improving existing manufacturing processes to increase safety, efficiency and quality, while reducing costs
- Identifying, evaluating, and implementing new technologies to improve manufacturing processes
- Performing failure analysis, and implementing corrective and preventative actions
- Working closely with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth production operations
- Providing hands-on support on the shop floor, integrating new products & technologies, and supporting area-wide continuous improvement initiatives
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce waste, and improve overall production performance
- Providing training and support to end-users on new products, processes, equipment, and technologies
- Investigating and resolving production issues related to materials and processes, ensuring robust and cost-effective solutions
- Establishing metrics, collecting and analyzing data, and using statistical process control to monitor process performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Utilize SAP to model, analyze, and improve business processes
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 or more years of engineering, manufacturing or data analysis experience
- Ability to work on manufacturing and/or assembly floor
- Technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities
- Experience with MRP/ERP software
- Proficient understanding of Project Management
- Detailed oriented and adaptable
- Must be able to speak/read/write English
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with MRP/ERP software, preferably SAP
- Green or Blackbelt in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred
- CAD or Catia experience, highly desired
- CNC, automated and robotics systems experience highly desired
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Medium-to-large office environment
- Manufacturing and/or Machining environment
- Fast paced, people and parts movement
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to medium
- Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments
- Exposed to a combination of potential odors from chemicals and/or processes
- Physically demanding
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment required
