POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

As a Payroll Specialist I you have 3 years or less experience in a corporate payroll role. You will support to the Finance Department on payroll related items. You have expansive knowledge or experience in those areas related to payroll (such as, mathematics, accounting, auditing, research, MS Office, or SAP). A Payroll Specialist I assist in supportive tasks related to bi-weekly payroll processing, manual checks, check distributions, timecard collection, garnishments, VOE’s, regular and routine departmental audit and special request for payroll related data. This position will occasionally be expected, to troubleshoot payment issues for the employee, reach out via phone call, email, or written correspondence to management or external 3rd-parties to assist in the primary objective or timely and accurate payroll processing. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support the payroll team by performing follow-up actions for the department.                        
  • Liaison between the department’s internal customers and support teams.            
  • Act as a back-up to Payroll Specialist II or processing within the department that assists in maintaining business operations.     
  • Assist with off-cycle checks, audits, and payroll processing, as required.          
  • Ensure that payroll deliverables (checks, reports, or supporting documentation) are released, distributed, or processed as requested within compliance.               

 

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, skills in payroll related combination of education and experience a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to prioritize and adhere to direction.
  • Problem solver
  • Possess high level of integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • ADP Workforce Now experience is required
  • ADP Workforce Management experience is a plus
  • Excellent follow-up and customer care skills
  • Team player with Can-Do-Attitude
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must speak, read, and write English, fluent in second language a plus.
