POSITION SUMMARY:
Toolmaker I, II & III will be responsible for the manufacturing of Build-to-Print Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) designed for integration into military mechanical/electromechanical equipment. Primary role to include setup and operations of Bridgeport and Lathes machines. This role must be interested in technical growth with a desire in being part of a culture where teamwork, collaboration, and continuous development drive success. They must be able to function in a process-centric environment, in which we encourage diversity, inclusion, intellectual curiosity and having a ravenous drive to do the impossible. This position requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and setup Bridgeport and Lathes and special attachments designed for these machines to achieve on-time delivery, quality and efficiency standards, deburr parts as needed
- Understand and use planning instructions, blueprints, and manufacturing sketches
- Create and uses a variety of measuring instruments and holding fixtures in production to ensure parts are meeting blueprint requirements
- Able to perform basic operations as drilling, boring, reaming, and tapping to dial in close tolerances
- Know and follow all the company policies and procedures: i.e. Safety, Regulations, Quality, Security, Work Instructions, etc.
- Suggest recommendations to leadership concerning process improvements
- Use 6S methodologies to improve and maintain an efficient work area
- Perform other related duties as may be required
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED
- Trade and/or Machining school certification, preferred
- 5-10 years experience setting up and operating Bridgeports, Lathes and similary machines
- Able to use Digital Readout (DRO)
- Have a good understanding of fixturing and tooling to safely load and unload material and finished products
- Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
- Notify leadership of issues with equipment or non conforming parts
- Ability to lift and/or move roughly 25 pounds overhead and 35 pounds to chest level
- Is regularly required to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to hear
- Must be able to speak/read/write English
- Must wear PPE at all times in the area (Safety Shoes and Safety Glasses)

- Exposed to a combination of potential odors from chemicals and/or processes

SALARY RANGE:
Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $26.00 to $ 30.00 per hour
