POSITION SUMMARY:   

 

Advanced Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for directing and coordinating the personnel in the manufacturing of Build-to-Print Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) designed for integration into military mechanical/electromechanical equipment. Primary role is to manage the CNC programming staff in the development and optimization of CNC programs, setup and operations of Manual and CNC Mill and Lathe machines, welding and debur processes. This role must be interested in technical growth with a desire in being part of a culture where teamwork, collaboration, and continuous development drive success. This position requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Interface with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, and other departments to transition new products from R&D to production and sustaining products internal to MEC manufacturing or outsource to suppliers to improve on time delivery, quality, and efficiencies. (Make/Buy evaluations) 
  • Manage all CNC programming/software personnel in support of safety, on time delivery, quality, efficiency, and contract cost estimating. 
  • Analyze and work with team members to solve problems and implement solutions to improve production methods, performance, and quality of product  
  • Training of employees to develop skills and knowledge on programming, setup and operation of CNC machines 
  • Evaluate, acquire, and validate new technologies, equipment, or facilities for the manufacturing area  
  • Direct employees in accordance with the Company Policies and Procedures: i.e., Safety, Regulations, Quality, Security, Work Instructions, etc. 
  • Manage employee performance, evaluations, resolve conflicts and escalate complaints when necessary 
  • Create, maintain, and optimize setup and operation instructions, production records, employee’s time sheets, and department metrics to communicate to the team and other departments 
  • Perform other related duties as may be required 

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or 7 to10 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably in the aerospace or military industry  
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role and minimum 10 years experience programming, setting up and operating 3, 4, and 5-axis machines, minimum 3 years expeiene in R&D environment 
  • Design and programming experience with CATIA V5+, FeatureCAM CNC, Hypermill CAM 
  • Knowledge of Okuma OSP 300, Fanuc i31, Mazatrol, Siemens 840D controllers, etc. 
  • Knowledge of how to operate Manual and Computer Numerical Control (CNC), lathes and milling machines, Mazak, Okuma, DMG, OKK, and Bridgeport, etc. preferred 
  • Have a good understanding of fixturing and tooling and be capable of designing fixtures, performing setups, document and train  
  • Must have advance Blueprint understanding 
  • Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications and troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite profeciency (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to lift and/or move roughly 25 pounds overhead and 35 pounds to chest level 
  • Ability to hear 
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English. Spanish and other languages a plus 
  • Must wear PPE at all times in the area (Safety Shoes and Safety Glasses)

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to medium 
  • Exposed to a combination of potential odors from chemicals and/or processes 
  • Physically demanding 
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment required 

 

SALARY RANGE:  

 

Base Salary Range: $130,000 to $155,000 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 

 

Minor travel requirements for this position (10%)
