POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

To effectively manage a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and supporting staff in order to manage processes related to supplier management with the goal to continuously improve the overall supplier quality performance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of Supplier Quality to improve supplier quality performance by collaborating with the Supply Chain organization and SQE visitations. 
  • Ensure SQE skills and competency are adequate to support supplier training activities which include Pre and Post Awards, AS9102 FAI documentation, Product Assurance Provisions (PAPs), supplier score card system, Supplier Delegated Inspection (SDI), Supplier Paperless Program, and use of the supplier portal.
  • Provide management oversight in the issuance, monitoring and reporting of Supplier Corrective Action Requests, Supplier Notifications, and requests for Return to Green (RTG) Plans.
  • Provide guidance using SCAR or QN data analytics prepared by the SQEs on the appropriate actions and communications when trying to determine supplier blockage.
  • Actively engaged in monitoring and resolving supplier related risk mitigation with Supply Chain and other interested parties (i.e., Return to Green Plans)
  • Supports GIDEP Alert management as it applies to purchased product.
  • Responsible for ensuring the deployment of monthly Supplier Quality Performance Scorecards and quarterly Detection to Prevention (D2P) Supplier Quality performance to DCMA. 
  • Lead and foster employee development of the Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) through coaching, mentoring and one-on-one employee performance discussions.

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • College degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related fields a plus or equivalent years of on-the-job experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supplier quality management or similar years of experience in supply chain.
  • Minimum of 3 years in the aerospace and defense industry as it relates to supplier quality.
  • Minimum of 8 years of supervisory or management level experience.
  • Strong leadership skills in driving accountability, process ownership, continuous improvement, and root cause and corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (i.e., constructing formal correspondence to suppliers, writing work instructions or standard practice procedures)
  • Strong influential skills, successful track record in building interpersonal relationships, ability to quickly build credibility, and gain the confidence of other co-workers/leaders and suppliers.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Above average skills in creating, monitoring and reporting supplier quality measures.
  • Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) decision making.
  • Experience in training employees and/or suppliers in Purchasing flow down requirements.
  • ASQ or Greenbelt/Blackbelt certifications a plus.
  • Experience in Project management and/or skills related to project planning, resource planning, task management, and/or risk assessment a plus.

  • This position is 100% on-site at our Inglewood, CA facility

 

SALARY RANGE:


Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $100,000 to $130,000

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 

 

Visiting local suppliers will be a common expectation (2-3 visits minimum per month).  On occasion, this job title may require travel outside of the Southern California area as needed.
