POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

Lead Quality Control Inspector provides support to the QC supervisor by overseeing and working alongside inspectors providing dimensional inspection support.  Ensuring product compliance to MEC requirements, processes, procedures, and contractual obligations with at least two years of leadership experience.  Lead inspectors will perform level 1 and level 2 inspections.

 

  • Perform independent inspections, validations, and/or verifications of internal/external components to ensure compliance to Marvin Engineering requirements, processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Using blueprints, basic GD&T, specifications, contractual documents, visual inspection methods, etc.
  • Assist the QC supervisor by overseeing and working alongside QC Inspectors, assisting in on-on-one meetings, and adhering to the Lead Roles and Responsibilities Checklist. 
  • Monitor inspector clock In/Out times and scheduled breaks.
  • Review, approve, and audit Quality Notifications (QN) generated by direct reports for accuracy.
  • Review, approve, and audit inspection reports generated by direct reports for accuracy.
  • Monitor workstations for 6S practices at the start & end of every shift. Document any FOD or Safety incident / near misses.
  • Ensure estimated completion dates, pending inspection statuses and constraints are logged into SAP by inspector, for each assigned order/ Purchase Order.
  • Generate inspection reports in accordance with MEC policy.
  • Identify and segregate suspect non-conforming material and generate Quality Notification (QN) in accordance with MEC Policy.
  • Perform first piece validations in support of all manufacturing areas.

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • ​​​​​​​High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • Certification in GD&T required and/or 5 years of basic GD&T experience
  • 5 years minimum experience as a QC inspector
  • 2 years minimum leadership experience in aerospace/defense
  • Certifications in relevant American Society for Quality (ASQ) topics or college degree in Engineering or other technical fields are a plus
  • Certificates of Completion in Quality Assurance for the professional a plus (i.e., CSUDH Quality courses)
  • Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal
  • Able to perform basic math skills
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Able to work with others and be a team player
  • Must have a good attitude and willingness to learn

  • Able to perform basic computer tasks and have proficient typing skills
  • Familiarity with SAP a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to lift a minimum 35lbs.

SALARY RANGE:

 

Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $53,800 to $82,800
