POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Accountant III position will maintain company general ledger accounts to ensure entry accuracy, will work with internal departments to support all aspects of financial reporting, monthly and annual closing processes, provide updates to Finance management, support various audits and projects. The candidate will possess a working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting in growing manufacturing environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconcile and maintain key general ledger accounts for multiple companies
- Record and maintain journal entries
- Support Finance end of year physical inventory observations, cut[1]offs, and valuations for audit by CPA firm
- Support Tax Projects and related management & executive level Interviews - e.g., R&D Tax, Uniform CAP 263(a),IC-DISC
- For all Marvin Companies excluding MTS and CWT: Maintain Property, Plant & Equipment subsidiary ledger by asset category including depreciation and Gain (Loss) on asset dispositions; Track assets under construction costs along with prompt asset ID assignments, including the target date for entering service; compute depreciation for book.
- Competence in financial statement consolidation preparations involving multiple foreign currencies and minority interests.
- Prepare financial statement footnotes and analytical schedules, EBITDA, adjusted EBITDA schedules.
- Manage special projects simultaneously including but not limited to coordination and preparation for financial audits, physical inventory observations, user assisted testing of software enhancements, new ERP system installation.
- Prepare reconciliations of intercompany accounts
- Competent expertise in FOREX rate translations to US dollars in support of financial statement consolidation of foreign holdings
- Understand and prepare ROU ASC 842 lease and loan amortization schedules
- Backup support for budget and forecasting processes for MEC and MLS as necessary
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of cost and financial accounting/auditing experience in complex defense and/or manufacturing industry
- Strong understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project & PowerPoint software.
- Strong analytical analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP systems, preferred, or similar ERP systems for manufacturers.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work well with team members and across the organization.
- Possess high integrity.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Must speak, read and write English.
- Experience working with Artificial Intelligence to enhance throughput.
