ENGINEER, FACILITIES

Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area. Purpose:

Responsible for plan, design, feasibility, production layouts and best practice implementation to support Production, Manufacturing and Facilities including buildings, construction projects, machine maintenance, equipment installations, general maintenance and infrastructure. 

Job Duties:

• Master planning, real estate services, building and infrastructure design, project design reviews, design and construction standard development, and construction project management. leadership of programs and services.
• Functions may include specialized architectural, engineering, site, and construction services; energy engineering; building code analysis; project scheduling, estimating, and management; and support of operations and maintenance.
• Project support including concept review, feasibility, budget, scheduling, design development, equipment installation/commissioning and justification for CAPEX review.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to develop production and manufacturing layouts to effectively utilize space, equipment and resources that eliminate waste utilizing lean manufacturing methodology.
• Support Facilities Maintenance team and provide technical expertise to create effective building, machine, and infrastructure preventive maintenance program.
•  Develop Root Cause and Corrective Actions through thorough investigation and data analysis to resolve production and equipment failures.
•  Collaborate with internal and external customers, contractors, architects, engineers to best provide Facilities services to organization.
• Support in development of safety improvements.

Job Requirements: 

1.    Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, etc.) required.
2.    Minimum 5 years’ experience in Facilities Engineering or Project Management required.
3.    Lean Manufacturing implementation experience required.
4.    Experience working in aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
5.    Experience with AutoCad or other CAD program preferred
6.    Proficient in Microsoft Project and Excel.
7.    Excellent written and verbal communication
8.    Knowledge of State and Federal Building and Safety regulations.
9.    Ultimate Team Player
