POSITION SUMMARY:
This position requires a strong background in manufacturing with a major emphasis on electrical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies. This position requires experience in manufacturing of electrical assemblies, electromechanical components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supporting production of electromechanical/electronic equipment (airborne and land based) and ensuring products are built to specifications and engineering documents.
- Testing and troubleshooting analog and digital electronics down to the component level
- Reviewing Test Requirement specifications and writing test plans, test procedures and test reports.
- Establishing methods of test and equipment required to accomplish them.
- Documenting test results and test progress reports.
- Performing failure analysis and write a report including corrective action.
- Assessing assembly and test processes, performing time studies and recommending lean practices to improve process.
- Providing feedback to improve product design for ease of manufacturing.
- This position entails breaking down customer engineering requirements per drawing to create manufacturing planning, bills of material (BOM), liaison with manufacturing personnel to improve processes, troubleshoot assembly problems.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and testing of electromechanical assemblies.
- Education: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Must be able to work on a variety of electromechanical/electronic assemblies (wire harnesses, pcbs...)
- Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and GD&T.
- Must have strong knowledge of both analog and digital theory.
- Must be able to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital meters, and power supplies .
- Working knowledge of ERP System (SAP preferred).
- Strong process management, process improvement, problem solving and cost reduction skills.
- Knowledge in design of jigs and tooling for electrical applications used for assembly of the final product.
- Must be able to perform basic measurement and inspection processes.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in creation of Manufacturing Planning for product realization.
- Must have experience with MIL-STD documents, reading and interpretation of ASME Y14.5.
- Must be able to write engineering reports that include analysis and results.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products is essential.
