Position Summary:

 

Marvin Group is seeking an Electrical Designer to develop equipment and controls documentation for manufactured electrical systems. The role converts requirements and engineering direction into schematics, panel layouts, wiring documentation, component selections, bills of material, and drawing packages while supporting manufacturing, testing, and cross-functional coordination. This role is limited to equipment and controls design and manufacturing support; it does not include stamped building electrical plans or responsible-charge work.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop equipment and controls designs and documentation from requirements and engineering direction through release.
  • Create and revise schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable and wire schedules, and related design records.
  • Select electrical components and prepare bills of material, specifications, drawing packages, and revision-controlled documentation.
  • Coordinate design interfaces with controls, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Support prototype and production builds by resolving documentation, installation, fit, and function issues and processing design changes.
  • Coordinate manufacturing test preparation, functional testing, and troubleshooting; document results and corrective actions.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 4+ years of demonstrated capability preparing schematics, panel layouts, and wiring documentation for equipment or controls systems
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD or drafting tools and disciplined drawing, revision, and document-control practices
  • Ability to select and document components and maintain bills of material, specifications, drawing packages, and configuration-controlled records
  • Clear technical communication, practical problem-solving, and effective collaboration across design, manufacturing, and test functions

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience as an electrical designer, controls designer, panel designer, or electrical drafter supporting manufactured electrical equipment, control panels, integrated power/control enclosures, production builds, or factory testing
