Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area. POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

Lead Electrical Assembler will be responsible for directing and coordinating the manufacturing of Build-to-Print Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) designed for integration into military mechanical/electromechanical equipment. Primary role to include assembling, self-inspecting, testing, and modification of sub-systems, sub-units, assemblies, electronic and electromechanical components to include molding, adhesives, harnesses, and cables. This role must be interested in technical growth with a desire in being part of a culture where teamwork, collaboration, and continuous development drive success. This position requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of an Assembler
  • Study production schedules and estimates, maintain time and production records, coordinate manpower, and maintain flow of product through department to meet changing conditions and ensure customer shipment dates are met
  • Training of employees to develop skills and knowledge on equipment setup and operation, techniques of assembly, wiring, and soldering
  • Assist assembly team members to solve problems and make recommendations to improve production methods, performance, and quality of product
  • Direct employees in accordance with the Company Policies and Procedures: i.e. Safety, Regulations, Quality, Security, Work Instructions, etc.
  • Appraising employee performance, escalating complaints, and helping to resolve conflicts
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met
  • Perform other related duties as may be required

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • High School Diploma, and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, drawings, specifications, and   governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP software. Knowledge of SAP ERP software preferred but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in troubleshooting and assembly of military mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS Library.
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
