Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. SCOPE

 

The Buyer III is a very experienced Buyer, usually with experience purchasing machined/fabricated components or assemblies, ideally in an Aerospace, military, or other heavy regulated industry. The Buyer III is able to act with greater independence to solve most day-to-day problems without additional guidance.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Review “Purchase Requests”, identify suppliers, negotiate best value directly with suppliers, and place POs in accordance with Company Policy and government / customer requirements.
  • Coordinate work processes/approvals with senior management and internal customers
  • Display commitment to the on-time delivery of quality products
  • Develop and support comprehensive sourcing strategies in a team environment
  • Ensure appropriate record keeping of purchase activities.

 

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

 

•    Strong sense of personal and professional integrity
•    5 years of hands-on Buying experience, OR an AA/AS degree and 2 years of experience in a Buyer or similar role where negotiation was required.
•    Either the experience purchasing machined or processed metal materials, the ability to read blue-prints, or other experience that demonstrates the ability to purchase complex parts and products. 
•    Communicate concisely with all levels inside and outside the company.
•    Demonstrates robust negotiations skills with confidence.
•    Have longstanding relationships within the manufacturing community is highly desirable.
•    Action oriented with a record of achieving business goals
•    Creative with strong problem-solving skills 
•    Be self-starting, highly organized, outgoing with excellent people skills
•    Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environment with on-time delivery as a priority
•    Basic knowledge of computer software such as Word and Excel
•    SAP experience
•    Experience in Aerospace, Defense, or other heavily regulated industry 
•    Must be able to speak/read/write English
•    Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
